Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+)
REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) is a global initiative to mitigate climate change. The Sindh Forest Department has implemented various REDD+ projects and initiatives:
REDD+ Projects in Sindh:
1. Sindh REDD+ Project (2013-2018): Funded by the World Bank, focusing on sustainable forest management.
2. Sindh Forest Development Project (2019-2024): Funded by the Asian Development Bank, promoting sustainable forest management.
3. Indus Delta REDD+ Project: Protecting mangrove forests in the Indus Delta.
4. Sindh Wetland REDD+ Project: Conserving wetlands and associated forests.
