Meeting with Survey of Pakistan

Short Description

A pivotal meeting of Senior Forest Officers and Survey of Pakistan was convened today at Forest & Wildlife Department Sindh at Karachi. Meeting was presided over by Mr. Najam Ahmed Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Forest & Wildlife Department.


Detail Description

Key resolutions were made concerning the overall updated progress of survey of forests of Sindh and in particular the issue of unwarranted re-survey of Thatt Jagir Forest by SoP without  taking the Sfd in confidence, and to complete the half done  incomplete survey of Siranwari 2 forest of Khipro Forest division. The session marked a significant stride towards addressing pressing issues and wanted from SOP to comply as per deliverables. Moreover, the meeting laid down a roadmap for handing over deliverables of surveyed forest divisions to Mr Ashfaq GIS Expert of SFD. 
Dr A Jabbar kazi A S T initiated the meeting and held detailed deliberations on each issue and then briefed the ACS / Chair for taking right ful decisions as under;
1. Handover digital data of surveyed areas to GIS Expert of SFD
2. That Jageer survey done by sop in 2019 is final, it cannot be altered suomoto by SOP under any circumstances 
3. Siranwari-2 survey may be completed as per existing entries in record of rights, without being influenced of any  document/ instrument/order, as the record of rights has the finality to be considered and followed. 
The Meeting was attended by Mr. Asad Belhar of Survey of Pakistan and his team,  who presented their point of view. ,  Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Memon,  Conservator of Forests, SB Abad,  Mr Wajid Ali Solangi DFO Khipro, and Mr Ashfaq GIS Expert of SFD  gave their valuable  inputs.
Next follow up meeting to witness the compliance of minutes of this meeting,  had been scheduled for Monday, 27th February at 2.0pm
